As before, the Tip of the Week is presented by media sponsor Kamweld Technologies, Inc. based in Norwood, Mass.

Kamweld Product Manager Len Alter is back to discuss cutting thermoplastic sheets, such as PVC (polyvinyl chloride), with a circular saw. He explains that there are specific considerations such as feed rate and rake angle to ensure that the cuts are even and avoid damaging the plastic.

For instance, if you push the plastic sheet through too quickly, then there could be melting or chipping of the plastics.
